OH but hold on what is that, another sac I hear you say?

Penny the miracle worker believes that this is a normal occurance with twin B and that two babies will be born in December

I’d booked us into the same place that had done my lining scans, one because it’s right near Matt’s work, two we were familiar with them and three they were a lot cheaper than a hospital.

We arrived separately , me with a full bladder (this is for an outside scan but I’d been so used to internal scans I just stripped and assumed the position and then realised that it was on top of my stomach) which amused Matt and the sonographer no end. There it was, a sac with a embryo, bang on date, 7 weeks and 3 days and a very loud, healthy heartbeat………. Yep twin B was certainly there but measuring a week behind twin A with only a flicker of a heartbeat and a slow one at that. I then had to empty my bladder so that an internal scan could be done (now we were on familiar ground!) so she could see a little clearer. So the upshot is that we need to scan again in two weeks to see if that twin has caught up and is surviving, otherwise it will just be absorbed into the uterus, I believe the terminology is vanishing twin syndrome.

You are now all in on our (semi) secret until the 12 week scan but I know you will all be souls of discretion until that time and your support is more valuable to us than you’ll ever know

So there we have it, I am currently pregnant with twins, for now know as bubble and squeak (cockney rhyming slang for Greek) all the more reason to keep fit, (I am back on the treadmill, walking not running) with our dream growing inside me. Matt is walking on air and I promise I will be too, very soon, I just need to catch up with the rest of you.

Before I go I just want to leave you with a story that sums up Penny’s dedication to IVF and making couples dreams a reality and while you read it try and imagine this happening in this country.

Yesterday I was reading one of the fertility friends forums and the stories of some the girls cycling at serum at the moment. One girl was due an appointment for her follicles to be scanned at 4 in the afternoon on Saturday but her flight was delayed from the UK and when she finally reached the clinic it had shut. She realised she had her phone on silent and had missed loads of calls and emails from serum telling her not to panic and they would open specially for her on the Sunday morning. This girl then went out for dinner but at 8pm received an email from a concerned Penny saying she was worried they may miss her ovulation window, so she was going to leave her house to do a 50km round sugardaddie com login trip to scan her at the clinic at 9pm that Saturday night……….. WHAT A woman.

Sorry if part of this is a little negative but I’m feeling pretty glum about the whole bloody process and I’m fed up of trying to stay positive every flipping day…….SO THERE!

I am writing this more than half way through my 2WW, yeah I know! A lot of you have no idea that we have been to Athens once again, it’s nothing personal, I just didn’t want to shout it from the roof tops this time. It’s hard to believe that we only tested negative just over 4 weeks ago and here I am half way through the dreaded 2 week process once again, it’s been a bit of a whirlwind to be honest.
